SA 516 Grade 65 Sheets and Plates are made from carbon steel, containing a maximum of 0.24% carbon, 0.60–1.20% manganese, and minimal amounts of phosphorus and sulfur (both at 0.025% max), along with 0.15–0.40% silicon. These plates boast a minimum tensile strength ranging from 415 to 585 MPa and a minimum yield strength of 240 MPa. They are known for their excellent notch toughness, weldability, and resistance to corrosion, even under high temperatures and pressures.
