The NACE MR 0103/0175 HIC Boiler Sheet and Plates are expertly crafted to withstand hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC) and are tailored for sour service applications. The typical chemical makeup includes carbon (≤0.20%), manganese (0.90–1.60%), phosphorus (≤0.025%), and sulfur (≤0.005%), along with additional elements like chromium, molybdenum, and nickel to boost corrosion resistance. These plates boast impressive mechanical properties, featuring tensile strength between 485–620 MPa, yield strength of at least 260 MPa, and elongation of 22% or more. The steel undergoes thorough testing to ensure it meets NACE standards, making it perfect for high-pressure and corrosive environments.

Tempering : Notch toughness can be improved by quenched cooling from hot rolling or normalizing by the supplier. If such a faster cooling rate is agreed upon between purchaser and supplier then the steel is also to be tempered at 1200 F.
Applications : Used for weld fabrication of pressure vessels that require improved notch toughness for lower than ambient temperature service.
