EN 19 sheets and plates consist of chromium-molybdenum alloy steel, renowned for exceptional strength, toughness, and wear resistance. The standard chemical composition comprises about 0.35–0.45% carbon, 0.75–1.00% chromium, and 0.15–0.25% molybdenum. These plates provide tensile strength of 850–1000 MPa and yield strength of approximately 680 MPa in heat-treated conditions. They are also characterized by good ductility, hardenability, and fatigue endurance. EN 19 is adequate for tough applications that call for both strength and durability under dynamic and high-stress conditions, particularly after treatments such as quenching and tempering.
