Carbon Steel EN 10083-2 Grade C40E pipe is a medium carbon steel containing about 0.37–0.44% carbon, 0.40–0.80% manganese, along with trace amounts of phosphorus and sulfur. It boasts impressive mechanical properties, featuring a tensile strength ranging from 610 to 740 MPa and a yield strength between 370 to 470 MPa. The steel has a Brinell hardness of 170–210 HB and an elongation of around 14%. With its good hardness and moderate machinability, C40E is perfect for heat treatment processes like quenching and tempering, which boost its strength, toughness, and wear resistance for high-performance industrial applications.
